Chrysler’s College Intern Program
offers a unique opportunity for highly motivated, innovative, and inspired individuals
to work in a challenging assignment where contribution, teamwork, and communication
are vital to the success of the organization.
As a leading edge company, we are able to provide real world challenges and
rewarding intern experiences in the fields of Information Technology Management,
Procurement and Supply, Manufacturing, Product Development, Human Resources
and Sales & Marketing to candidates from a variety of colleges and universities
while providing candidates and competitive salary.
Interns are assigned to an organization department based on the candidate's technical background and interests. The assignments are project-oriented, meaningful to the department and allow the intern to take responsibility for a major task. Interns experience a sense of personal accomplishment and contribution and experience the corporate business culture through work assignments and structured activities. They gain the communication and etiquette skills required in business while sharing knowledge gained from recent courses. They also enhance their computer skills and learn new systems and software.
Each intern assignment consists of challenging projects with specific goals, providing opportunities for personal growth and development. Interns that demonstrate outstanding qualities may be invited back the following year for a second internship or to interview for full-time positions in our various new hire programs. Summer internships are primarily located at the Chrysler Technology Center in Auburn Hills, Michigan and at local facilities in the Detroit Metropolitan area.

Required Qualifications of the Undergraduate Intern Programs:
Completion of sophomore year
Major in Field
GPA of 3.0 or higher (based on a 4.0 scale)
Strong interest in automotive industry
Strong written and oral communication skills
Good interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a team environment
Computer proficient (including spreadsheet, word processing and database applications)
Preferred Qualifications of the undergraduate intern programs:
Related work experience
Foreign language skills
The ability to identify, analyze, solve complex problems
Leadership abilities
Ability to excel in a team environment
Interest in obtaining a Master’s degree i.e. MBA, CMA certification
Ability to work with all levels of management including union employees and
leadership
Ability to relocate (for some programs)

MBA Internships
Required qualifications include:

Procurement and Supplier (P&S) Management Trainee Program
The Procurement and Supplier Trainee Program is a highly selective program that consists of three year’s worth of rotational assignments within the various functional areas of Procurement and Supply. Trainees will receive valuable hands-on experience in supervision, purchasing, scheduling, transportation and supply, provide them with a comprehensive understanding of the interrelation of the functions, how they impact the supply chain and the end customer. Each new trainee will also be assigned a peer mentor and an executive level sponsor who will provide guidance and advice on work assignments, on-the-job problems, performance strengths and potential career path options at Chrysler.Procurement and Supply (P&S) - Supplier Quality Engineering Management Trainee Program
The P&S Supplier Quality Engineering Trainee Program is a specialized career path for technically focused candidates within the Procurement & Supply Management Trainee Program. The Supplier Quality rotation mirrors the standard P&S Management Trainee Program with additional rotations to allow for exposure to the vast array of new technologies, high-tech processes and critical thinking skills used in the problem solving processes of a Supplier Quality Specialist. The program consists of six, half-year work assignments which may include: Advanced Supplier Quality Specialist, Buyer-Supplier Management, Supplier Quality Plant Specialist, Assembly or Powertrain Quality Specialist, Supply and Vehicle Engineering. These work assignments will provide the trainee with a complete overview of the supply chain process, ensuring part quality through the product development cycle and then into volume production. Participants in the program are encouraged to pursue a Master’s Degree in either a technical field of study (such as Mechanical or Electrical Engineering) or a Master of Business Administration and will be provided tuition assistance. Each trainee will be assigned an executive sponsor who will provide input and assistance on work assignments, graduate studies and career planning.Chrysler Institute of Engineering (CIE) Training Programs
Since its inception in 1931, the Chrysler Institute of Engineering (CIE) Trainee Program has given carefully selected graduates an exceptional opportunity to combine work and study. A part of our rich history, this program now plays an important role in Chrysler's future, providing engineers with vision and commitment to our becoming a premier global automaker.Product Development - Chrysler Institute of Engineering (CIE) Training Program
The Product Development CIE Program is highly selective with a limited number of openings each year. Only the best and brightest college graduates are chosen. During the first two years of work, participants in the CIE Program will receive challenging assignments while completing a Master’s degree. CIE Trainees are assigned to an Executive Sponsor charged with taking a personal interest in the Trainee’s success and growth. Sponsors meet periodically with the CIE trainee to discuss their progress and offer guidance on work assignments, academic courses and career paths within the Chrysler.Participants in the Program must also pursue a Master’s Degree in Engineering. Program participants are given one fully paid study day per week in order to allow them to complete their Master’s degree while completing their Product Development CIE Trainee work assignments. As an added benefit, Chrysler pays tuition and fees. Each CIE Trainee is assigned to an Executive Sponsor who takes a personal interest in their success at Chrysler. Sponsors meet periodically with the CIE trainee to discuss their progress and offer guidance on work assignments, academic courses and career paths within the Chrysler.
Manufacturing Chrysler Institute of Engineering (CIE) Training Program
The highly selective Manufacturing CIE Training Program accepts a limited number
of candidates annually. Trainees build their skills and knowledge with a series
of six short-term work assignments in the following Manufacturing areas: Assembly,
Stamping, Powertrain / Component Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering Division
– Staff, and a Manufacturing Plant Assignment. This variety of assignments
gives the CIE an overview while narrowing in on their desired area of specialty,
suited to their interests and the Corporation’s needs while providing
the resources, support and environment needed to realize both personal and professional
goals. It is the first step to a professional career in the manufacturing sector
of the automotive industry
Participants in the Program must also pursue a Master’s Degree in Engineering. ITM Development Program ( ITMDP)
The ITMDP is selective in its recruitment. A limited number of openings occur each year and only the most promising graduates are chosen. The ITM Development program provides an opportunity to begin a professional journey into the auto industry. This program provides resources, support, and a learning environment to build personal and professional success. All ITM Development program participants are assigned an Executive Sponsor who will be actively involved in your success at Chrysler. The program is comprised of three (3) one-year assignments designed to give an introduction to Chrysler Information Technology Management. In addition to work assignments, ITMDP participants are required to pursue a Master’s Degree either in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or an MBA degree. Participants are expected to complete their advanced degree during the three years of the training program. Tuition reimbursement is available.Finance Development Program Trainee
Finance Trainees work as an integral part of a team within various areas of the Finance Organization. Interns also participate in informational sessions and planned social events and are given the opportunity to meet and discuss issues with members of senior finance management. In addition, each trainee is assigned a senior manager as a mentor, and a current Advanced Degree Development Program (ADDP) participant as a peer advisor. It is the objective of the training program to offer candidates candid picture of the organization and an understanding of long-term career opportunities at ChryslerHuman Resources/Employee Relations Trainee
Human Resources/Employee Relations (HR/ER) offers two development programs. The Development Program (DP) is available to candidates who are within one year of completing an undergraduate degree. The Advanced Degree Development Program (ADDP) is available to recent graduates with a Master’s degree in Human Resources, Health & Safety, Business, Labor/Industrial Relations, or Law. Positions are located in manufacturing facilities in Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, and Missouri.Trainees will be challenged to exhibit competencies in the areas of Problem Solving, Communications, Teamwork and Valuing Others, Customer Focus, Integrity and Work Orientation. The ADDP program consists of three to four rotational assignments over a 5-year period in Human Resources/Employee Relations departments with a major emphasis on core manufacturing experience. These positions require a willingness to relocate and to work in a human resources role in a manufacturing environment.
Corporate Finance Advanced Degree Development Program
The Finance Advance Degree Development Program (ADDP) seeks top performing individuals from premier educational institutions who are able to contribute to the organization's fast-paced, dynamic environment and who have the potential to become future leaders. During the past two decades, the Finance ADDP Program has produced innovative business leaders who have ascended to the top executive ranks of the organization.Finance ADDP is recognized as a world-class development program that develops
future finance leaders at Chrysler. Entry into this program is typically predicated
upon a successful completion of a summer internship. It is a highly structured,
yet flexible, four-year rotational program designed to meet the professional
needs of its participants within a dynamic and challenging environment. It facilitates
the development of a broad understanding of the financial and corporate principles,
purpose and practices of the company. Through the Finance ADDP program, participants
can tailor their career by selecting rotation preferences from a comprehensive
list of finance assignments within the following organizations: Manufacturing,
Corporate Financial Analysis, Procurement & Supply, Treasury, Product Development,
Global Sales & Marketing and Corporate Audit.
